HONK! is a free, family-friendly, grassroots festival!
All HONK! events listed below are FREE and open to the public. This is the rough schedule of events for the weekend. Full details will be posted during the week of 9/30.
Saturday, October 5th
Lantern-making Workshop for Adults/10+yr kids
351 Summer Street, VFW Dilboy Hall
In addition to lantern-making for people of all ages in Hodgkins Park on Friday, October 11th, an additional workshop geared toward adults and kids over 10 years old. Designer/puppeteer David Lane of the New England Puppet Intensive will show how to create a reed and cloth lantern sculpture. Make a lantern! Bring it to the HONK! Thursday, October 10th
Pre-HONK performances in Union Square and Aeronaut Brewery, 7 to 10PM. Full schedule here.

Hoot Pick-Up Band rehearsal

Lantern Making Workshops
4pm – 6pm at Hodgkins Park near Davis Square
Kids, parents, neighbors, and friends are all invited to make homemade, DIY lanterns in preparation for the evening Lantern Parades around Davis Square. Full info can be found here.
Lantern Parades
6:30pm – 7:30pm, leaving from Hodgkins Park
Sidewalk processions around Davis Square accompanied by bike lights, paper lanterns, flashlights, and other forms of DIY lighting. Full info can be found here.

7-10p at Bow Market
Saturday, Oct 12th
HONK! in Davis Square
Opening ceremonies at noon in Seven Hills Park.
Bands play all afternoon from 1 to 9p in locations around Davis Square. Full schedule available here.
Elm Street Interactive Area
1pm – 5pm
We’re closing Elm Street to cars and turning it into a dynamic arena for interactive art making and activism. Please join us – use paint and stencils to craft a message, leave a note on the Day of the Dead altar, take a look at your consumption habits and make a pledge to reduce your carbon footprint! Work with our amazing HONK! artists to create something for yourself or to get involved with an activist cause! Full details here.
Sunday, Oct 13th
The HONK! Parade
12pm – 2pm down Mass. Ave. from Davis Square to Harvard Square

Performances on the Main Stage at Oktoberfest 2PM to 6PM.
Skill share workshops at First Church Cambridge from 3 to 6 PM.
