The Party Band
The Party Band is a punk/funk brass band from Lowell, MA that brings booty shaking fun everywhere they go. They break the barrier of performer and audience and bring a high caliber of musicianship to each performance. The Party Band loves you and thinks you're doing great!
The Party Band strives to bring people together and make their day a little brighter through a shared musical experience with each performance. We are committed to making high caliber music that spreads joy and laughter throughout the city of Lowell and beyond while also serving our community in any way possible.
We are sometimes an activist street band but not 100% of the time
The Party Band is an advocate for education equity and perform young audience shows for kids in the greater Lowell community as often as possible. We have a network of educators within the band that teach music in public schools, non-profits, and through programs for kids facing physical and cognitive challenges. A lot of our members identify with the LGBTQ+ community in particular and we're constantly growing and learning how to better use our voices for issues that we care about.
We have participated in quite a few events for the LGBTQ+ community including the Boston Pride parade and Northampton Pride celebration this past year. We also continue to perform young audience shows for students in Lowell Public Schools since education outreach is extremely important to us. Members of our group have become more actively involved with BABAM this past year and have participated in various protest rallies and direct actions. We've also done a couple of benefit shows for people impacted by conflict in Syria and are planning to participate in another this April.
