What is your band’s mission?
Through our music we strive to support people and communities working for social justice.
Does your band consider itself an activist street band?
Yes
What do you think your band could contribute to a festival of activist street bands?
We bring a little more of a radical edge to Honk than some of the other bands, through our music selections and choice of political chants during our songs.
What activities have you participated in recently to support your community or causes that you care about?
We've played the NYC Women's March and the March for our Lives, and at a community garden event. An upcoming gig has us playing in a church for an immigrant family who is in sanctuary.
In what ways do you support diversity in your band?
We are a democratic collective through consensus-based decision-making. We don't discriminate on the basis of musical ability, and we have an on-going effort to reach out to under-represented groups and peoples.
