Red Flame Hunters

Joining us from New Orleans will be the Red-Flame Hunters, teens from the Seventh Ward who celebrate resilience and empowerment in the face of poverty and catastrophe by carrying on a centuries-old Creole tradition — sewing countless hours after school to make elaborate costumes of feathers, fabric, sequins and beads, to wear dancin’ and drumming in the streets as part of the Mardi Gras indian tradition.
