The following are the road closures planned by the Somerville Police Department and Cambridge Police Department for the HONK! festival this year. Note: there are more closures this year on Saturday than in past years at SPD’s request. This is for public safety and to be more consistent with other street fairs that take place in Davis Square like ArtBeat.

This information is correct and complete according to the plans made by the various people in charge of public safety but could change on the day.

SATURDAY October 10, 2026 in Davis Square

Roads will be closed around 10am and will open between 9-10pm after HONK! concludes.

3. Dover St from Davis Square to Meacham Rd
4. Day St at Herbert St

1. Holland St @ Buena Vista Rd
2. Holland St @ Wallace St
3. College Ave @ Highland Ave
4. College Ave @ Morrison Ave
5. Holland St @ Cameron Ave

SUNDAY October 11, 2026 – parade from Davis to Harvard Square

The following locations will be closed at designated times and will reopen once the parade passes by.

SPD:

• Day St. at Orchard St. @ 10:00am
• Herbert St. at Chester St. @ 10:00am
• Elm St. @ Day St. @ 11:30am
• Elm St. at Grove St. @ 11:40am
• Elm St. at Russell St. @ 11:45am
• Bowers Ave. at Elm St. @ 11:45am
• Tenney St. at Elm @ 11:45am
• Miller Ave. at Elm St. @ 11:45am
• Across Elm St. in the vicinity of Dover St., preventing vehicles from accessing Elm St. from Holland St. and College Ave. @ 12pm

CPD:

• Day St at Mass Ave at 10:00 AM
• Russell St at Mass Ave at 11:45 AM
• Orchard St at Blake St at 11:45 AM

The following locations will be barricaded at Elm St. at 11:45am and will be open to abutters only:

• Elston St.
• St. James Ave.
• Windom St. (will become temporary two-way until parade passes by)

From 10:00-13:00 Day St. and Herbert St. will be closed to regular vehicle traffic and open only to
parade participants.
