We formed the DC Activist Street Band (DCASB) in response to injustice and rising authoritarianism. We bring sound, spirit, and solidarity to the streets of Washington, DC as a joyful act of resistance. We stand in solidarity with movements fighting for a more just and equitable world.

Our music is inspired by the street band movement, and influenced by the New Orleans second line tradition, klezmer, labor, civil rights songs and chants that emerge in the moment.

We are inclusive and open to all. No matter your skill level, the most important thing is to SHOW UP.

We welcome not only musicians, but also singers, dancers, and performers who want to raise their voices alongside us. Through music and creative expression we strive to inspire activism, celebrate community, create joy, and fight for justice.
