We are are a volunteer fueled organization, founded in 2005, working for the abolition of the criminal punishment system, which disproportionately impacts lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex people, as well as those living with HIV. Our mission is to abolish the prison industrial complex and liberate LGBTQ+ people and people living with HIV/AIDS who are affected by that system through advocacy, support, and organizing. We recognize that the liberation of Black, Indigenous, people of color, and poor people is central to queer liberation and can’t be attained without abolition of carceral systems. We connect freeworld people to incarcerated members who are LGBTQI+ or living with HIV to create revolutionary relationships. We believe that writing across walls breaks them down. Our programs include: bail support, court support, penpals, newsletter, re-entry support, housing support, drop in and a speakers’ bureau.
